MIS AsiaMANILA, PHILIPPINES, 26 JULY 2010 – Recognising the strategic location of the Philippines and the global-level qualities of the Filipino workforce, an Australian solutions company has chosen the country as its global research and development (R&D) headquarters.
Melbourne-based JMango said last week it has also forged deals with two of the Philippines’ top companies, which will use mobile applications to enhance customer service using JMango’s mobile apps platform.
The two companies – Globe Telecom and Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) – are some of JMango’s most recent clients that have agreed to use the JMango platform for mobile applications.
Globe Telecom, the country’s second biggest telecommunications company, said it would develop apps for its 25 million mobile customers.
JMango also formed a “mobile technology relationship” with PSBank, which is a member of the Metrobank Group, one of the top three banks in the Philippines.
PSBank plans to launch a personal banking mobile app for customers and JMango will create an application enabling clients of the bank to gain full access to bank services from any handset existing in the market.
Two-dimensional
In addition, JMango and PSBank are pursuing the development of applications with technologies such as the two-dimensional QR codes or radio frequency identification (RFID).
